This free in-person event is for East & Southeast Asian gay, bisexual, queer cis and trans men. We will spend the evening together at gay hot spot, Riverdale Park East by Broadview Ave. We'll have a chill hangout and share snacks. Drinks are optional! Look for us on the hill with an ACAS sign. We'll end with a small "nature hike" through the bush trails and look for signs of "wild life". In other words, after hanging out we will take a tour through the cruising areas together! Please be respectful when walking through the bushes as we do not want to interrupt or disturb the activity in there. We are only observing. Avoid being judgmental or giggling at others. Asian LGBTQ+ Youth Peer Support Group with Hong Fook
Hong Fook Youth and Family Services partnering with ACAS to run a new monthly LGBTQ+ peer support program for LGBTQ+ Asian youth under 30. The peer support group offers a space for youth to connect and share their experiences around a variety of topics relevant to their lives, including LGBTQ+ and mental health. Together we create a supportive, non-judgemental environment that inspires hope, healing, and change. Here are just a few things to expect for the evening and what the art experience includes: Clients who would like to participate will have the opportunity to learn how to bottle paint, and take home their art piece. Clients can choose to bring their own unique glass bottle, or we will have some standard bottles on hand. If you decide to bring your own bottle, it must be glass and cleaned properly. (790 Bay street, unit 820, Toronto, corner of Bay and College). Date: October 6, 2022 (Thursday) Time: 5-8 PM (5:30 PM light dinner, 6:30 PM presentation) Venue: HQ Toronto (unit 820, 790 Bay Street, Bay and College) During the workshop, Dr. Woodward will deliver: An overview about the Monkeypox virus, how contagious the virus is, how this virus affects the immunocompromised population, and ways to prevent the virus in your daily life. The importance of the vaccine (first or second dose) and the degree of protection. What is the next step in response to the virus in Canada/Toronto Public Health.
