for any self-identified East and Southeast Asian cis and trans men

SLAM! (Sex, Love, Asian Men!) is the ACAS Men’s Program. We have social events and workshops that address the sexual health and social issues of gay, bi, and queer Asian cis and trans men who have sex with men (MSM). We provide HIV/STI education and prevention by promoting safer sex practices, harm reduction, and having discussions around our community’s lived experiences with sex, love, and relationships. We are always innovating and evolving our outreach and can be

found on popular apps providing info on safer sex, testing and STIs. Beyond sexual health, we have fun social events to strengthen the community of gay Asian men.

We are always looking for volunteers or helpers! Volunteering with us is also a great way to meet new Asian guys and take part in the community.

More about what we do

ACAS routinely has a presence at cultural events, festivals, or night clubs for LGBTQ+ Asian men like Asian Xpress (AX) or during Halloween in the Church-Wellesley Village. Look for our interactive and fun booth where staff and volunteers promote safer sex and hand out condoms, lube, and other freebies. We’re always looking for volunteers to help with outreach.

Our staff provide one-on-one support for gay Asian men on issues like coming out, relationships, sexual health, HIV testing, PrEP, etc. If you have any questions email men@acas.org.

While we don’t have testing or access to medication like PrEP, our men’s team is well equipped to help you find the nearest testing site that works for you. We can walk you through the process and provide information and support. If needed, we can also provide language assistance during your visit to the sexual health clinic. If you have any questions or require a referral, you can email men@acas.org.

Join the SLAM Facebook group for daily posts, articles, and videos related to Asian men, LGBTQ+ rights in Asia, and sexual health. We also update it regularly with our ACAS events. It is a secret Facebook group so your membership will be hidden to non-group members. Please contact men@acas.org for access to the group.

The SLAM! Forum (Sex Love Asian Men!) is a one-day interactive learning forum on sex, health, lifestyle and everything in between, for self-identified cis & trans gay, bi, queer Asian men. It is organized with community members to help identify the most relevant and pressing issues and is always well attended. Mixed in with games, we help foster new connections and share experiences among participants.

We have specialized meet up groups including one for men over 40, substance users, Mandarin-speaking gay men, and international students. If you are HIV+ we also have specific confidential events (see our Support Program offerings). You can also be involved through positions on planning and advisory committees.

Every month we hold workshops at Asian Bathhouse Night at Spa Excess to promote safer sex practices and build community together. Staff and volunteers are there handing out condoms and lube and answer any questions to our patrons. Rapid HIV testing is available on site during Asian Bathhouse Night.

Email men@acas.org for a coupon (50% off lockers) during Asian Bathhouse Night!

It can be hard to meet guys online or at the club… That makes our Speed Dating event one of the most highly anticipated events of the year! It is a fun way to meet many gay Asian men for potential friends, dates, and/or partners. This is an event for self-identified cisgender and transgender Asian men. You are welcome regardless of your HIV status, age, body type, and language ability. Whether you are single or in a relationship(s), we encourage you to discuss with the people you meet with what you are looking for.

SLAM creates educational and fun “Public Service Announcement” videos relevant to gay Asian men while increasing visibility for Asian men. Past videos include “HIV Testing as Easy as Ordering Bubble Tea“, “WTF is this STI?“, and “It’s OK to…” Consent videos. Check them out on the ACAS youtube channel
