QTAY’s Summer Art Extravaganza Starts!
Want to create and maybe even share some art? Attend our summer arts-based workshops and get a chance to share your work at our end-of-summer Open Gallery! We'll have two types of workshops this summer: - Queer A-Zines: The Extended Cut with Iz (Tuesdays) and - Making an Artist with Kelly (Wednesdays) These workshops will take place very week on Tuesdays & Wednesdays, 6-8pm EST starting July 26th - August 17th. These workshops will give you space to create art while building community with other queer Asian artists of all kinds. You'll have the chance to learn new techniques, collaborate with other people, learn about sharing and selling your art, and more. Further information on both of these workshops to come soon, so keep an eye out! If you attend at least 6/8 workshops, you will be given priority to showcase at an Open Gallery (August, date TBA)! This Open Gallery will give you the chance to show off, share, trade, and even sell your art if you'd like. Those who do attend at least 6/8 workshops and share their art at the Open Gallery will be given honorariums as thanks for their time and creativity (~$25, amount may go up depending on fundraising). Of course, you don't have to attend 6/8 to join us--feel free to just dip in for a session or two! Regardless of whether or not you hope to share at the Open Gallery, feel free to join the workshops for a fun/chill time! Not everyone has to share, but this is a great opportunity to learn how.
