QTAY Bubble Tea Tour

To celebrate its 20th year, QTAY will be hosting a Bubble Tea Tour across Toronto and the GTA. We'll have a meetup each month in a different part of the city. To kick us off, our first location is Teashop 168 in North York. Before the boom of bubble tea, Teashop 168 was one of the first and largest bubble tea chains in North America. Throwback to some nostalgia of the first QAY bubble tea lounges. With plenty of space, we can have a larger group with fun games to meet and make new friends! (No? Okay maybe that was just me...) In this month’s edition of HumpDay, we're going to dive into the ancient art of *flirtation* so when you meet someone at the bar, in your apartment, the grocery store or jammed in a crowded streetcar, you'll know how to escalate that small talk or put on the brakes. We're going to give share some classic lines to say, practice some body language exercises, share tips, tricks and wisdom as well as discuss how to deal rejection. TMAC is wheelchair accessible. Invisible Footprints (IF) is proud to present, Life To Art: Retracing Footprints Across Generations, our video screening and symposium event. For the past six months, IF has been working with a group of youth artists to explore different facets of Toronto’s LGBTQ East and Southeast Asian communities, histories and identities. Having participated in our two workshops and four public forums, these artists have been connecting with ‘elders’ within the community, tracking down archival materials and learning the various ways veteran activists, artists and community members have organized or represented themselves. Please join us on February 15 for the premiere screening of the video works the artists have produced in response to both these issues as well as their own independent investigations. Programs: - Reception - Video Screening: premiere of video works by Youth Artists - Artist Talk: featured artists will speak about their videos and research process. Talk will be followed by audience Q&A - Intergenerational Panel: dialogues between ‘elders’ and youth artists sharing community/life experiences and having them be inspiration for art. Panel will be followed by audience Q&A Doors Open: 2pm Screening: 2:45pm - 4pm Artist Talk: 4:30pm - 5:30pm Keynote / Panel (featuring longtime community members and youth artists): 6pm – 7pm Repeat Screening 7:45pm – 9pm Reception in between programs.
