PARK presents a gripping and sensual tale of two women - a young Japanese Lady living on a secluded estate, and a Korean woman who is hired to serve as her new handmaiden, but is secretly plotting with a conman to defraud her of a large inheritance. Inspired by the novel Fingersmith by British author Sarah Waters, THE HANDMAIDEN borrows the most dynamic elements of its source material and combines it with PARK Chan-wook’s singular vision to create an unforgettable viewing experience. https://www.facebook.com/events/327038204589963/
SLAM Forum 2019: Dis/Connect
REGISTRATION is required at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/SLAM-2019 Saturday March 30 11:00am - 5:00pm Ryerson University, 250 Victoria St, Podium Building The highly anticipated annual event for cis & trans gay, bi, queer Asian men! The SLAM! Forum (Sex Love Asian Men!) is a one-day interactive learning forum on sex, health, lifestyle and everything in between. FREE with lunch provided. Invite a friend or two! **Stay tuned in for more updates on session topics and social activities as we lead up to March 30!! This year the theme DIS/CONNECT explores how we connect or don’t connect with the different parts of our identities. Being gay and Asian is complex with many layers that shape our experiences. Though we may all be Asian men who like men, there are many things that make our experiences different from each other: Where we were born, Where we grew up, What language we speak, What religion we follow, How connected we are to our culture, When we immigrated to Toronto, etc… Last year, participants also wanted more time to socialize and get to know each other, so we're integrating fun activities to really CONNECT and know each other more deeply. For the SLAM Forum 2019, in multiple sessions throughout the day, we will share, learn, and connect together in our experiences. https://www.facebook.com/events/252682938984963/
ACAS Photovoice Exhibition: Through the lens of consent
The project goal is to empower Asian women to create change in their daily lives on sexual harassment and assault prevention by using the concept of Consent. In the past months, Asian Community AIDS Services Women's Program created the space for 25 Asian women newcomers and immigrants in Toronto to have conversations about consent. The project objectives are threefold; 1) increase knowledge on consent and respect when it comes to sexual relationship; 2) increase communication skills to encourage people to have sometimes difficult conversations about consent with their peers and partners; and 3) reduce the culture of victim-blaming of the Asian communities in Ontario. Our participants are currently in the the penultimate stage of the photovoice project of taking photographs on the theme of consent. In collaboration with University of Toronto's WGSI, we are organizing the photo exhibition which is the final stage of the photovoice project. We will be exhibiting 20 - 30 photographs and statements on each artist's exploration of consent and/or non-consent. 20 Willcocks Street Toronto, ON M5S 1C6 Tue, March 26, 2019 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM EDT

Come learn how to tidy up your home in a way that sparks joy! Inspired by Marie Kondo’s KonMari method, we’ll spend the evening reflecting on the joy or lack thereof in our lives. Even if the world outside is in chaos, our homes should be a safe space we can enjoy fully! Please try to bring two items! One item should be something that definitely makes you happy and that you love and want to keep! The other item should be something you've been unsure of about getting rid of. This is just for one of our activities where we'll explore our feelings around our things. Try to remember but don't sweat it too much if you forget! You can always use the skills you learn here at home. Food and tokens will be provided.
