Pride Dragon Movement Workshop
ACAS 260 Spadina Ave #410, Toronto, Ontario, CanadaThis will be a great opportunity to learn the introductory movements of dragon dance from Ian Chow of Northern Fist Southern Legs Kung Fu Club 🐉 He'll teach how the graceful dragon dance movements tie in kung fu and tai chi. Date: Saturday, June 18 Time: 4:30pm - 6:00pm Location: 260 Spadina Ave, Unit 410 An artist team has been building a dragon to help increase visibility of queer & trans Asians in the Pride Parade. You can join this workshop without marching in the parade, but if you are able to march with us, we encourage volunteers to take shifts holding the dragon throughout the parade. This dragon explores how we combine elements of both Asian and queer culture to represent our identities and to co-exist in harmony. Holding the dragon up is an honour to represent how our community supports and holds each other up ❤ This project is funded through the #RisingYouth grants by TakingITGlobal, The Government of Canada, and Canada Service Corps.

Group Number: A13 Meeting Time: 12:30pm Location: Ted Rogers Way & Charles St It is important that you meet on time at the starting point before it gets too crowded and harder to find us! You will NOT be able to join when the parade begins as there are barricades that block off people from entering along the route. This year a queer artist team is building a Pride Dragon representing our LGBTQ+ Asian identities co-existing in harmony. Please help take turns carrying the poles because our community supports each other ❤ We encourage you to bring your own water in a reusable bottle, however there will be water available along the route. We will only bring 12 extra water bottles to share. If you cannot walk the whole route, get tired, or overheated, there are exit points along the route.
