August 1, 2019 Dear Members and Friends, RE: Notice of Annual General Meeting (AGM) On behalf of Asian Community AIDS Services (ACAS), it is my pleasure to invite you to our 2019 Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Thursday, September 12 from 7:15– 8:30p.m. at Casey House, 119 Isabella St, Toronto. Monthly Movie Night: 2 Weddings and a Funeral
This event is FREE for LGBTQ Asian cis & trans men, cis & trans women, and nonbinary folks. Monday September 30 260 Spadina Ave, Unit 410 6:00pm - Doors open for arrivals 6:30pm - Movie start time **Bring your own snacks, dinner, food. We will have water and tea available. You can leave right after the movie or stay and hang out as we process and discuss the movie together. 2 Weddings and a Funeral (2012, South Korea, 1 hr 46 min) with English subtitles Trailer: https://youtu.be/Zj3T0CvdP1M Min-soo (KIM), a gay man, and Hyo-jin (RYOO), a lesbian, both decided to get married. Not to their respective partners... but to each other. Their devious plan works perfectly. While secretly living with their partners, who move in next door, they appear to the outside world as a “normal” couple. They enjoy all the benefits afforded to heterosexual couples and also are able to ward off the curiosity of parents and any others who might disapprove of their lifestyle. However, Min-soo’s intrusive and incredulous parents begin to get a bit too involved with his life, threatening his scheme.
