Hong Fook Youth and Family Services partnering with ACAS to run a new monthly LGBTQ+ peer support program for LGBTQ+ Asian youth under 30. The peer support group offers a space for youth to connect and share their experiences around a variety of topics relevant to their lives, including LGBTQ+ and mental health. Together we create a supportive, non-judgemental environment that inspires hope, healing, and change. Topic: Perspectives & Resilience of PLHIV Who Use Drugs (PLHIV/PWUD) Our Drug experts: Colin Johnson, Richard Dalton, and Christian Hui. The panelists will carry a constructive and meaningful interactive conversation on the intersectional needs of PHAs who use drugs. The panelists will share their perspectives on the critical role as a peer drug expert, exploring and sharing their view on how mainstream and intercultural harm reduction practices differ, and how mainstream and ethnocultural AIDS service organizations can better support PLHIVs who use drugs. Our panelists' wide range of perspectives and lived experiences assure this interactive forum will share knowledge and generate a healthy conversation for PLHIV who use drugs. In addition, guests will have an opportunity to ask questions to the panelists. Learn Taiko Drumming with Raging Asian Women!
1220 Dupont St. 1220 Dupont St., Toronto, Ontario, CanadaSound in the Spring with a hearty beat! If you've ever wanted to learn Taiko Drumming, now's your chance. Our partnership with RAW Taiko Drumming allows up to ten QTAY (18-29 years old, must be queer and/or trans as well as Asian but otherwise open to all genders/sexualities) to attend six free workshops on Thursdays from 7-9 pm EST from April 21st - May 26th. Support Program: Mobile phone photography workshop
Dear ACAS Clients and caregivers, We are hosting a mobile phone photography workshop on April 21, Thursday from 7-830PM on Zoom. Our placement student: Tien, who is also a photographer, will be facilitating this practical session. All you need is to have your mobile phone with you and you are good to go. In this workshop, you will learn basic photography skills on a mobile phone setting, you can use any phone with camera function (iphone/android/others).
