Do you want to receive things? Do you do neither but still want to hang out and check out other people's amazing artistic works? Come to the QTAY art swap on Friday, June 17th at Ramsden Park (across from Rosedale Station), at 5:00pm. Afterwards, join us in browsing TCAF. No RSVP needed--just show up! If you want to, feel free to bring art (drawings, zines, poems, etc.) to share with others. However, you don't need to bring anything of the like; if you just want to come hang out with us, we'd just love to have you there! Masks encouraged, social distancing mandatory whenever possible.
Support Program Pre-Pride Pink Party
Dear ACAS Support Program clients and caregiver, It's Pride Month!!! And as a tradition, we will have our Pre Pride Pink Party on June 17, 2022. The event will be from 5-8PM. You are most welcome to bring your caregiver, partner or family member to the event. Remember to wear something pink!!! Please RSVP to your support staff no later than 14 June, 2022. If you are bringing a caregiver/partner/family member, let us know as well so we could prepare food accordingly. (and any dietary restriction) We are also looking for performers to showcase your talents at the event and volunteers as well! Let us know. While you can drop in at anytime, we may have to ask you to wait until the office is more clear before you enter. ❗ We're so excited to host the Pride QTAY Clothing Steal this year, which will take place on Saturday, June 18th, from 1-5pm EST. This is a queer and trans-friendly event that will allow folks to take clothes for free! This event is open to Asian youth on the 2SLGBTQIAP+ spectrum. If you wish to donate clothes, we will only be accepting clothes sizes Large and up, as most of the clothes that were donated to us last year were sizes XS, S, and M. Binders are also accepted in any size. It's a STEAL because we need to get rid of as many clothes as possible before donating it all! Please come take as much clothing as you'd like. Pride Dragon Movement Workshop
ACAS 260 Spadina Ave #410, Toronto, Ontario, CanadaThis will be a great opportunity to learn the introductory movements of dragon dance from Ian Chow of Northern Fist Southern Legs Kung Fu Club 🐉 He'll teach how the graceful dragon dance movements tie in kung fu and tai chi. Date: Saturday, June 18 Time: 4:30pm - 6:00pm Location: 260 Spadina Ave, Unit 410 An artist team has been building a dragon to help increase visibility of queer & trans Asians in the Pride Parade. You can join this workshop without marching in the parade, but if you are able to march with us, we encourage volunteers to take shifts holding the dragon throughout the parade. This dragon explores how we combine elements of both Asian and queer culture to represent our identities and to co-exist in harmony. Holding the dragon up is an honour to represent how our community supports and holds each other up ❤ This project is funded through the #RisingYouth grants by TakingITGlobal, The Government of Canada, and Canada Service Corps.

How do we explore and discuss these things when we come from a background where we are expected to hide or be ashamed of these things? How do our experiences affect the ways in which we learn and talk about our bodies, relationships, and desires? Join Kelly, Iz, and Dany on Zoom, June 21st, from 6-8 PM, in More than the Tip: Going Deeper with Intimacy, a workshop where Asians of marginalized genders (i.e. cis and trans womxn, as well as non-binary folks) can come together to learn about and discuss experiences of relationships to bodies, societal norms, and sex toys. At least ten participants will be compensated for their time with $15 food gift cards. March with ACAS Pride Parade
March with ACAS in the Pride Parade on Sunday June 26. Join our contingent for East & Southeast Asian queer & trans folks. Partners and allies are welcomed. We encourage you to wear pink if you have it! Bring your own water, bells, whistles, and noisemakers. Group Number: A13 Meeting Time: 12:30pm Location: Ted Rogers Way & Charles St It is important that you meet on time at the starting point before it gets too crowded and harder to find us! You will NOT be able to join when the parade begins as there are barricades that block off people from entering along the route. This year a queer artist team is building a Pride Dragon representing our LGBTQ+ Asian identities co-existing in harmony. Please help take turns carrying the poles because our community supports each other ❤ We encourage you to bring your own water in a reusable bottle, however there will be water available along the route. We will only bring 12 extra water bottles to share. If you cannot walk the whole route, get tired, or overheated, there are exit points along the route.
