International Students Rainbow Connection (ISRC)

International Students Rainbow Connection (ISRC)

is a welcoming community for Mandarin-speaking international students, new graduates, and newcomers in Toronto who identify as gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men. Our goal is to create a safe and supportive space where members can connect, share experiences, and access sexual health resources.

Our services are open to Mandarin-speaking international students who are gay, bi, or men who have sex with men

Program Goal & Activities

The International Students Rainbow Connection (ISRC) supports Mandarin-speaking international students, new graduates, and newcomers in Toronto who identify as gay, bisexual, or men who have sex with men (gbMSM). Our program aims to reduce social isolation, strengthen community belonging, and promote sexual health knowledge and HIV prevention.
This year, we continued to prioritize community-building, peer connection, and accessible HIV prevention education. We hosted weekly drop-ins in both Downtown Toronto and Scarborough, expanded our outreach presence on campuses and social media, and provided personalized sexual health navigation to support PrEP access and HIV/STI testing.

What We Do

  • Community Building: Weekly drop-in sessions in Downtown Toronto or Scarborough to help members connect, make friends, and build supportive networks.
  • Education & Awareness: Annual workshops on sexual health and HIV prevention, offering practical knowledge and resources.
  • Outreach: Online and in-person outreach at schools and on social media to raise awareness and welcome new participants.
  • Personalized Support: One-on-one counseling about HIV prevention and PrEP (pre-exposure prophylaxis), plus referrals and accompaniment to clinics to ensure members get the care they need.
  • Volunteer Engagement: Opportunities for volunteers to work closely with the community, gain valuable experience, and support ISRC’s initiatives.
