Celebrating Asian LGBTQ+ Community, Pride, and Belonging in Toronto
On November 23, 2023 at Dim Sum King Seafood Restaurant, Toronto Chinatown (421 Dundas St. W., 3rd Floor), PinkDot TO brought together Asian 2SLGBTQIA+ community members, friends, families, allies, and supporters for an unforgettable evening of connection, celebration, and community at Dim Sum King Seafood Restaurant in Toronto’s Chinatown. The 2023 theme,“Connecting the Dots: Bringing the Community Closer, One Positive Vibe at a Time,” highlighted the importance of wellness, visibility, and togetherness.
Hosted by Asian Community AIDS Services (ACAS), PinkDot TO continues to be one of Toronto’s leading events celebrating Asian LGBTQ+ communities. Since its launch in 2014, PinkDot TO has created opportunities for queer Asians to connect, share their stories, showcase their talents, and build a stronger sense of belonging
A Space for Asian LGBTQ+ Communities
Asian LGBTQ+ communities often experience unique challenges related to visibility, representation, and belonging. PinkDot TO was created to provide a welcoming and affirming space where gay Asians, lesbian Asians, bisexual Asians, transgender Asians, queer Asians, nonbinary individuals, and their allies can come together to celebrate who they are.
The event welcomed people from across Toronto and Canada who believe that everyone deserves the freedom to love, live authentically, and be celebrated.
Community, Performances, and Connection
PinkDot TO 2023 featured exciting performances, community exhibitors, a special World AIDS Day program, networking opportunities, and a shared dinner experience that brought attendees closer together. The event showcased the creativity, resilience, and diversity of Toronto’s Asian LGBTQ+ community while strengthening connections among community members and allies
Since 2019, PinkDot TO has evolved into a community talent showcase, creating opportunities for Asian LGBTQ+ individuals to share their voices, artistic talents, and lived experiences on stage.
